Planning out your holiday shopping? Here's a look at some of the major retail stores and when they will be open for Thanksgiving and Black Friday.

Here are the Black Friday store hours for some prominent national chains and Portland-area destinations. Best Buy stores will be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. The Bridgeport Village shopping center in Tigard will be open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Enough consumers enjoy holiday shopping in person that Black Friday remains the biggest day of the year for retail foot traffic in the U.S., according to retail technology company Sensormatic Solutions.

Macy’s handed out $10 promotional gift cards to the first 100 customers that visited the store. Staff across the first floor clapped in unison and music blasted as the first shoppers of the day streamed in.
