A stowaway evaded airport security and flew on a Delta Air Lines flight from New York to Paris Tuesday before being found in bathroom on the plane. NBC’s Erin McLaughlin reports for TODAY.

Authorities are investigating how a stowaway managed to board a Delta Air Lines flight in New York without a boarding card and fly to Paris.

The woman boarded Delta Flight No. 264 from John F. Kennedy International Airport to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, CBS News learned. She was discovered while the plane was in midair and was taken into custody in Paris.

A woman was allegedly caught on a Delta Air Lines flight headed to Paris from New York this week despite not having a valid boarding pass.

The individual, who did not have a boarding pass, completed security screening and bypassed two identity verification and boarding status stations to board the aircraft, according to a TSA spokesperson.

"The individual bypassed two identity verification and boarding status stations and was able to board the aircraft," TSA said in a statement.

The woman was removed from the plane by law enforcement after landing at Charles de Gaulle Airport, a source with knowledge of the incident told NBC News.

Amid the Thanksgiving travel rush, a stowaway was discovered Tuesday night onboard a Delta Air Lines flight out of JFK Airport in New York City headed to Paris.

An unauthorized passenger bypassed the Transportation Security Administration and boarded a plane at JFK on Tuesday, officials said. The plane later landed in Paris. The stowaway passenger was aboard Delta Flight 264,
