A salmonella outbreak linked to cucumbers has left at least 68 people sick, according to federal regulators.

(Gray News) – A cucumber recall over salmonella concerns is being expanded to include more products. On Saturday, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced the initial recall of cucumbers from SunFed Produce that were sold in dozens of states and parts of Canada.

The FDA is investigating a salmonella outbreak linked to cucumbers from a grower in Mexico with the SunFed brand.

The FDA encourages pet owners to wash and sanitize their hands after handling recalled food or any utensils that come in contact with recalled food.

Over the weekend, the threat of salmonella triggered the recall of 10,000 cartons of organic eggs sold at Costco and whole cucumbers sold in 28 states.
