Boise State’s women’s volleyball team has withdrawn from its Mountain West Conference Championship tournament match against San Jose State University (SJSU) amid an ongoing, unfounded gender controversy surrounding an SJSU player.

That’s despite securing a spot in the semifinals against the Spartans. San Jose State, which received six forfeit victories because of boycotts from MW opponents, is seeded second in the conference tournament and received a first-round bye.
