Ministry of external affairs (MEA) on Friday described as "unfortunate" Congress member Rahul Gandhi's recent snide remarks against US President Joe Biden and PM Narendra Modi, saying these were "not in keeping with India's friendly ties with the US".

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) criticized Rahul Gandhi's comments on outgoing US President Joe Biden as 'unfortunate'.

"We see such remarks as unfortunate and they’re not in keeping with the warm and friendly ties with the United States and do not represent the position of the Government of India,” said Randhir Jaiswal.

The Ministry of External Affairs on Friday, called Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi’s remarks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi as “unfortunate,” adding that it doesn’t represent the position of the government.

At a poll rally, Rahul Gandhi had said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi appears to be suffering "memory loss" like “former president of US”.

Jaiswal noted that the "multifaceted partnership" between India and the US is built over years of perseverance, togetherness, mutual respect, and commitment by both sides, and these remarks are "not in keeping with warm and friendly ties.

The government said that remarks made by Rahul Gandhi were unfortunate, and were not in keeping with warm and friendly ties with the US.
