Investigators say the man in custody hit Brian Hiltebeitel with a golf club and then choked him as they fought in a pond at Sandhill Crane Golf Club.

Palm Beach Gardens police said a Loxahatchee man, in a "random act of violence," "viciously attacked" another man with golf clubs before apparently drowning him in a pond at a golf course on Monday.

The Palm Beach Gardens Police Department is investigating a death at Sandhill Crane Golf Club involving two men on Monday afternoon.
