Mother Nature is about to serve up some unappetizing conditions for the millions of Thanksgiving travelers: sloppy weather, snow, the coldest temperatures since February and a potentially disruptive storm are on the way through the holiday weekend. Here’s a day-by-day look at what to expect this week.
Lake effect snow, dangerously cold temperatures incoming after Thanksgiving
The Great Lakes region is forecast to see the coldest air since February and heavy periods of lake effect snow beginning Friday. Significant snow totals are possible downwind of Lake Erie and Lake Ontario with travel disruptions especially on Interstate 90 between Cleveland and Buffalo and on Interstate 80 north of Syracuse.
