Rescue crews evacuated passenger from at least one stranded subway train Wednesday afternoon after a watermain break on the Upper West Side brought service in the MTA B and C subway  trains to a halt and severely curtailed service on both the A and D lines.

Multiple subway lines suspended service in Manhattan just ahead of the evening rush — and as the holiday travel rush was already underway — due to a water main break, according to officials.

The FDNY responded to 418 Central Park West for a 12-inch water main rupture around 1:50 p.m., which sent water above into the street and down into the subway.
