Tampa Bay Lightning star Brayden Point scored the fifth hat-trick of his NHL career in bizarre fashion on Thursday during his team’s 5-4 loss to the Washington Capitals.

The Lightning caught a tough break at the end of Wednesday night’s game against Washington, forced to try to kill off a double-minor high-sticking penalty after Anthony Cirelli put the puck in the back of the net for what would have been a go-ahead goal with just more than four minutes left in the third.
