A scamster posing as Delhi police official duped Mumbai based woman of ₹1.8 lakh after making her believe that she was under 'digital arrest' in connection with a money laundering case.

The woman is said to be the resident of Borivali East area of Mumbai and works in the pharmaceutical industry.

A 51-year-old music therapist in Navi Mumbai was defrauded of Rs 32 lakh by cyber criminals posing as Enforcement Directorate officials. The scammers claimed her Aadhar and SIM cards were used for illegal activities and coerced her into transferring funds under threat of 'digital arrest'.

During the video call, she was asked to strip her clothes for ‘body verification’ and transfer Rs 1,78,000 ($2105) for the verification of her bank details. The woman obliged the scammers and transferred the amount,
