The shooting followed five others reported across the city Saturday that left two men and a child dead and four others wounded, including a man who was shot on Canal Street at around 8:45 p.m.

New Orleans police are investigating a Canal Street shooting. Police were called to the 500 block of Canal shortly before 7:30 p.m. Officers found a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital. No other information was made available at this time.

Officers with the New Orleans Police Department are investigating six separate shootings that left three people dead and eight people wounded on Saturday, Nov. 30 and Sunday, Dec. 1.

Across six shootings, the NOPD reports 8 people were hurt and three people were killed, including a 3-year-old boy.
