Displays of Northern Lights are possible on Thanksgiving and Black Friday for the northern U.S. after NOAA's space weather forecasters say charged particles from the Sun will create geomagnetic storm conditions.

The northern lights may be visible in northern Wisconsin Friday night, according to a forecast from the NOAA’s Space Prediction Weather Center. Thursday’s forecast has a Kp index of three, meaning there may be more aurora activity. “If you are in the right place, these aurora can be quite pleasing to look at,” the NOAA says.
