A family of eight has been displaced on Thanksgiving after an overnight fire at an east Charlotte residence broke out, leaving the family displaced, the Charlotte Fire Department announced Thursday.

A house fire early Thursday displaced a family of eight and prompted a safety reminder to the community from Charlotte firefighters.
