A draw that was coming from about mid-game eventually came around in move 42 when by repetition D Gukesh and Ding Liren accepted it as the inevitable result. The draw leaves the scores tied at 2 - 2 after game 5, and the match as evenly poised as it could be.

In the fourth game of their World Chess Championship match, challenger D Gukesh and reigning champion Ding Liren played a quiet draw. Gukesh managed to equalize despite Ding's semi-surprise move in the Reti Opening.

Ding Liren was playing with white pieces in game 4 after Gukesh secured a confidence-boosting victory in Game 3. FIDE pointed out both players played with 100 percent accuracy in Game 4.
