Microsoft is releasing the first preview of its Recall AI feature for Copilot Plus PCs today. After a series of delays, Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel can now install a new build of Windows 11 that includes Recall and Click to Do — a feature that’s very similar to Google’s Circle to Search.

Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel can now preview Microsoft's AI-powered Recall feature if they have a Copilot Plus PC.

Both these AI features will also be available on Intel and AMD processor-powered PCs eligible for Copilot Plus PC experience

If you're using the free version of Windows 10, Microsoft really wants you to upgrade. Some users are getting full-screen pop-up ads encouraging them to buy Copilot+ PC and upgrade to Windows 11.

Windows Recall feature’s long road to actually being rolled out is finally coming to an end – sort of. After several delays, all centered around some major security and privacy concerns around the feature that was poised to take screenshots of whatever was on your PC's screen every few seconds, Microsoft is ready for folks to give it a shot.

Microsoft released its preview of Recall earlier this year and then pulled it shortly afterward. The turnaround was presumably because users were raising questions about the security of their data. Microsoft even appears to have blocked access to the first build that had Recall.

Concerns raised by cybersecurity experts had forced the tech giant to pause the rollout and refine the Recall feature.
