The shoot for superstar Mohanlal’s much-awaited sequel to blockbuster ‘Lucifer’, titled, ‘L2: Empuraan,’ has finally concluded and it is now slated to release in theatres on March 27, 2025. ‘L2: Empuraan’ marks the third directorial of actor Prithviraj Sukumaran starring Mohanlal in the lead role.

Empuraan, directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, has wrapped up its shooting phase. Starring Mohanlal and Tovino Thomas, the film is now set to enter post-production.

In the second installment of the action franchise, Mohanlal reprises his role of Stephen Nedumpally aka Khureshi-Ab'raam. L2: Empuraan, a sequel to Sukumaran's 2019 release Lucifer which also starred Mohanlal, is produced by Lyca Productions and Aashirvad Cinemas.

Prithviraj also shared a post on X, announcing the conclusion of filming: "At 5:35 am today, by the banks of the Malampuzha reservoir, we canned the final shot of #L2E #EMPURAAN See you in theatres in 117 days!

L2: Empuraan, the highly anticipated sequel to Lucifer, starring Mohanlal, has wrapped filming and is set for a worldwide release on March 27, 2025.

The upcoming movie will feature Mohanlal in the role of Stephen Nedumpally, who is also the dreaded international don, Khureshi Ab’raam. It is speculated that L2: Empuraan would not just be the sequel to Lucifer, but also act as a prequel of sorts to understand the origins of the characters played by Mohanlal and Prithviraj.
