The 55th International Film Festival of India concluded with Toxic winning Best Film, and Clément Favreau taking home Best Actor for Holy Cow.

Before its IFFI triumph, Toxic had already created a stir at the Locarno Film Festival. It bagged the Golden Leopard for Best Film in the festival's premier International Competition and also won the top prize in the separately juried First Feature Competition.

The nine-day film festival concluded in Goa on Thursday night. Filmmaker Phillip Noyce bagged the Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award

Lithuanian film 'Toxic', written and directed by Saule Bliuvaite, won the coveted Golden Peacock Award at the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) as the nine days of global cinema extravaganza concluded in Goa on Thursday night.

Vesta Matulyte and Ieva Rupeikaitė who made their debut with Toxic, were jointly given the Best Actor (Female) award. The Best Actor (Male) award was presented to Clément Faveau for his performance in Holy Cow.

The 55th International Film Festival of India concluded with a grand ceremony in Goa. Key winners included Vikrant Massey and the Lithuanian film 'Toxic'.

The much-awaited 55th International Film Festival Of India (IFFI) wrapped up with a grand closing ceremony at the Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium in Goa on November 28. This nine-day prestigious festival presents over 200 titles from 81 countries and numerous celebs from across the world attended the event.

Actor Vikrant Massey was awarded the Personality of the Year award and Navjyot Bandivadekar won the Best Debut Director award for his Marathi film Gharat Ganpati. Swedish filmmaker Levan Akin's Crossing was awarded the prestigious ICFT-UNESCO Gandhi Medal.

Goa CM Pramod Sawant and noted filmmaker Ramesh Sippy were among the guests present at the concluding function.

The jury for the International Competition, comprising Ashutosh Gowarikar (its chairperson), Anthony Chen, Elizabeth Karlsen, Fran Borgia and Jill Bilcock, selected Bogdan Muresanu as Best Director for the Romanian film titled 'The New Year That Never Came'.
