Tens of thousands of soldiers have deserted Ukraine’s army, at a critical time in their fight against Vladimir Putin’s Russia. According to the country’s General Prosecutor, more than 100,000 soldiers have been charged under desertion laws after walking away from combat and front-line positions.

The new EU Council president Antonio Costa and high representative for foreign affairs Kaja Kallas are visiting Kyiv on their first day in their roles - after being sworn in on Friday. Meanwhile, there were drone attacks across Ukraine and Russia overnight.
