Springfield's Turkey Trot 5K marks three decades as a Thanksgiving tradition this year. There's still time to sign up if you haven't already. On average, 7,000 people participate annually. The event happens rain or shine.

Runners and walkers braved the cold on the streets of downtown Springfield at the annual Turkey Trot 5K on Thanksgiving morning.

Sign-up continues through the morning of the 30th annual Turkey Trot in downtown Springfield. The Thanksgiving 5K starts at 8 a.m. Nov. 28.

If you plan on participating in the 30th Annual Turkey Trot, you have until Friday, Nov. 22, 2024, to be considered an early bird. Early bird registration runs through 5 p.m. on Friday. Early birds can save $10 on their entry fee,

The Turkey Trot in Springfield celebrates 30 years this Thanksgiving. The Turkey Trot is the largest Thanksgiving 5K in Missouri, attracting more than 7,000 participants annually. The race travels through downtown Springfield and the Missouri State University campus.
